Show Many waters now being stocked Many streams and lakes, which were either running too high or inaccessible for the opening weekend of fishing, are now being stocked with trout. The only two areas of the state still creating major access or run-off problems are the Uinta and Manti mountains. Most popular fishing lakes in the Uintas will not be stocked for at least two or three weeks. Many lakes in the Manti Mountains are still snowed under, and most will not be stocked for about three weeks. In the Northeastern Region, a few lakes in the lower Uintas, including Browne, Sheep Creek and East Park have been stocked are are offering fair to good fishing. Paradise Park is accessible, but is still frozen. Mike Ottenbacher, fisheries biologist for the Northeastern region, reports the stocking of the Yellowstone, Lake Fork and Uintah Rivers, and Cart and Carter creeks. |
