HERE'S A TIP TO CUT COSTS ON FREEZERS Would you appreciate cheaper and longer-lasting operation from your electric home freezer? If so, it's a good idea to keep them off hot porches and out of severly confined areas. All cooling equipment must have air to keep its cooling system from overheating. Areas of high temperatures require cooling equipment equip-ment to run longer, which in turn requires re-quires it to run hotter and cost you more. Another cost-cutting tip on your electric elec-tric home appliances is about your clothes dryer. Once a year, remove the vent that leads to the outdoors. Clean all lint that has accumulated in the vent. Check the vent hood to be sure the safety flap will open and close when the dryer is in operation. A clogged vent can double the drying time and add to your operating time. For those who want to check their dryer more completely, we suggest that you cut the power to the dryer, remove all easy access panels, and vacuum in and around the dryer. Replace all panels and restore power. |
