The Orley softballers thumped Altex Oil 23 to 4, Wednesday, June 9 and Gudac won its game with A-l Tank due to a forfeit. Orley's downed Gudac, 18 to 7 and Altex Oil thumped Dowell, 15 to 3, Thursday. Shelly Beynon scored three runs for Dowell in its game with Altex and Kelly Adams of Altex Oil scored three counters. Nancy Allen and Christy Beaslin scored three runs each for Orley's in its game with Gudac. Orley's Arliss McKee nabbed a grand slam in the contest with Gudac. Denise Hanchett and Cindy Rasmussen scored four runs in the game with Altex Oil and Robin Reed and McKee scored three times in the game. Orley's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning in its game with Altex Oil, Wednesday. Hanchett and Rasmussen connected for doubles. Hanchett scored when Reed's fly ball was dropped. A walk to Allen loaded up the bases and Rasmussen scored on a single by Valinda Olivers. Altex Oil pocketed one run in the bottom of the first to cut the Orley lead to one run at 2-1. Anna Jackson, Marcia Jackson and Sherene Campbell were walked to load up the bases. A fielder's choice by DeAnn Cook drove in Jackson, but the next two batters committed outs. Adams scored on a wild pitch. Marcia Jackson was walked and another wild pitch drove in Anna Jackson. Campbell was walked and Russell scored when she knocked down the pitcher at home plate.
