Show i " M j , j 1 ' ; I I I ' ' i " 4 ' ""- : ; i REPRESENTING THE happy-sad feeling of graduation is Kim Colton, Senior 1981, holding flowers sent to her by her grand-: grand-: mother and reminiscing with her Uintah High School yearbook. Graduation - - -What next? High school graduation a time of achievement, emptiness, indecision and goal setting. What about the class of 1981? Are they ready to meet the challenge? Talking with a representative 20 or so Seniors makes one feel that on the 'whole, they have things pretty well put together. Here's what some of them talked about: Alene Bowden "After graduation I plan on going to BYU. I'm going to major in history with :a secondary teaching degree. I plan to teach high school history somewhere in .Utah." This summer Alene is going to relax -and travel to Europe with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bowden. Kathlene Andreason ' Kathlene plans to work in a doctor's 'office and and maybe someday, but not right now, go to school. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank An-dreasen. An-dreasen. Jeffrey Robbins "I plan to work until I leave on a jmission in the fall, then go to school, probably BYU." : At Uintah High he enjoyed the business classes, especially accounting and computer science. Jeff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robbins. : Lisa Jorgensen : "I plan to go to Utah State University and hopefully get a job this summer." Jjsa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ijeo Jorgensen. i Monica Gibson : Monica plans to attend Utah State University in the fall. She will miss drill team and dance club at Uintah. She is excited, sad and scared about graduating. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson. John l-kas ' John plans to attend USU this fall and major in electronic engineering At Uintah High he especially enjoyed math and science class. His senior year was John's first at Uintah. Last year he lived at the Geokinetics field site 75 miles south of Vernal and completed his junior year by correspondence from BYU. Before that he lived in California. He really enjoyed living in a smaller community and the closeness of the students at Uintah High. He will work at Geokinetics this summer. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lekas. Linda Troester Her top priority after graduation is to find a summer job. This fall she plans to attend USU where she will major in music. She has both an entrance and a marching band scholarship to USU. At Uintah High she especially enjoyed en-joyed music and English classes. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Troester. Gordon Seitz Gordon plans to go to the University of Utah in the fall and later on an LDS mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Seitz. Kim Colton Kim plans on going to college in the fall. She will start as a sophomore because of the many college courses she was able to take in high school. This summer she plans to tour Europe with her mother. At Uintah she enjoyed attending the ball games, especially the bus trips home. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maughan Colton. Brent Hales "I plan to go on an LDS mission. I'll work this summer and leave in the fall." "Graduating is in some ways exciting and in other ways, scary." Many students upon commencement will enter the work force, some plan to be married, many others plan to go on to some type of further education, Whatever, the class of '81 is dreaming big When asked what they were going to miss most about Uintah, everyone agreed-their friends some mentioned men-tioned the school spirit, other said they would miss a favorite teacher or two, but everyone said "friends." One said, "It's going to be like starting over." Most of them, even though many admitted being a little scared, were glad to be graduating with the class of 'til. Congratulations! |
