Show MaQSQrl Enid-Hatch 1: Phone 789-3150 J Reid Merkleys visit in Idaho Reid and Sheryl Lynn Merkley and son, Joseph, traveled to Idaho Falls, Idaho on the Labor Day weekend where they met Geroge and Mary Jo Grossman, Sheryl's parents. The Merkleys returned by way of Jackson Hole, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. J. Ferron Hacking traveled to Hayden, Colo, to attend the Routt County Fair, Sat., Sept. 6, where their granddaughter, Queeda Chew, daughter of Dean and Laura Chew, was the queen of the fair. Sheldon and Sandra Horrocks made a trip to Grand Junction, Colo., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7 for a load of peaches and pears. Ardelta Timothy went to Salt Lake City Ci-ty last week with her granddaughter Wayne and Sherry Bascom on business and doctors appointments. Delo and Alta Rowley from Orem, spent the weekend at the home of their daughter, Deanna Johnson. New residents of Maeser are Herb and Shana Shaffer, Mitch and Lesa Hacking, their homes are in the Half Mile Subdivision. Vernon Bodily moved to the home south of GayLynn Oaks; Terry and Debbie Cox and children, Kelly and David, are the new owners of the Clarence and Muriel Akhurst home. Margaret Mecham is at home convalescing con-valescing after surgery at the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Harold Baumgerner, Margaret's mother from Hyrum, Utah, is helping the family. Cheri and Rochel Marie have stayed at their grandparent's home, Lynn and Betty Mecham, while their mother was away. Wilbur and Ethel Oaks visited with the Lonny Oaks family in Midway, Utah on Sunday, Sept. 7. Maeser Fourth Ward Relief Society held a party honoring their visiting teachers. New residence of Dry Fork Canyon are Gary and Lynn Osadchuck, the manager of Frontier Airlines. Les and Faith Mecham and family are living in a trailer while building new home. Allen and Nancy Cardall and family are also building a new home. Allen is manager at Ron's Market. Ivan and Venna Merrell are building next to Weston Caldwells. Margaret Elison has a new granddaughter grand-daughter born to Arron and Helen Simmons Sim-mons of Tridell. Little Shawny was born at the Uintah County Hospital Aug. 27. Visitors at the home of Glen McKee on Sun., Sept. 7, were Dela Nyberg from Lapoint; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hoopes from Whiterocks; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hoopes, Tony Weaver and girls, Roosevelt; and Thelma and Lennis McKee, Tridell. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Butch Hall are in Denver this week visiting with the Hal Hatch family. Little Heather Ann, daughter of John and Loren Hunt is the first grandchild of Bishop and Mrs. Floyd Bodily. Ariv-ing Ariv-ing Aug. 22, at the Uintah County Hospital, weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz. Other grandparents are Ule and Ruth Hunting of Naples. Great grandmother is Zelpha Bodily. The decendents of William and Gladys Akhurst met at the old home Sat., Aug. 30, for a family reunion. Billy Richards family from Ogden. Norman and Linda Powell and sons, Eva May Carleson and son, Norman and Donna Merrell family, Calvin Davis, Joan Gentry and David, the Clifford Richards family, Milt and Florence Wolley and Clarence and Muriel Akhurst were there. Howard and Florence Williams went to Salt Lake City on Sat., Sept. 6, where they took their grandchildren to the Utah State Fair and Ice Follies, returning return-ing home the same day. Phyllis Turner and Betty Bowden traveled to Provo, Friday, Sept. 5, for their annual cousins party. They all met at the home of Jessie Rue Bastian where they had lunch and visited. September meeting for Camp Thorn-burg Thorn-burg will be at the home of Betty Bowden. Maeser Fourth Ward reorganized their Relief Society, Primary and Sunday Sun-day School presidencies. New officers for the Relief Society are Jill Player, president, Zona Palmer and Janene Morrison as counselors and Arva Abegglen as secretary. Released were ' Beverly Merkly, president, Sandy Slade and Sandy Perry counselors. New Primary officers are: Elaine Limb, president; Ilene Ethington, counselor, the other counselor will be chosen later. Released were Gayle Jenkins, president, presi-dent, Sandra Horrocks and Margaret Mecham as counselors. The Sunday School presidency will be: Bryce Coombs, president and David Morre as first counselor. Doris Mott stayed on as secretary. Mr. Douglas Vilbaum arrived Sat., Aug. 30, to visit at the Art Stone home where his wife and daughters have been visiting. He will spend about ten days here then he and his family will travel to Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Vilbaum. |
