Show Ugly Persons chosen, ACS nets $627 KNEU and the American Cancer Society announced Friday the winners of the Ugly Person contest. The competition com-petition was all in fun and was intended to raise funds for the ACS while recognizing citizens in the Uintah Basin. The term, "ugly" was coined to invite participation by fun-loving people, not to indicate deficiencies in form or personality. The following people received votes: Jim Reidhead, Mike McKee, Kelly Gene Redmond, Clint Harrison, Darwin Kulland, Gayle McKeachnie, Joe Griffin, Clayton Hislop, Andy Godfrey, Judy Brighton. Susan' Clark. Beth Simmons. Andrea Granum, Kathy Neilson. Kimm Robb, Lance Luck, Jody Bergstrom. Linda Perry, Vicki Reber. Kay Winn, Connie McKee, Therisa Horrocks, Diane Simmons, Glade Wooley. Jerry Goodrich, Dave Murray. Brenda Anderson. Art McKee, Susan Hemstreet, ' Steve Huber, Jan Young, and Pauline Verduco. Winners (losers?) were Darwin Kulland in Roosevelt, Clayton Hislop in Vernal. Pauline Verduco in Duchesne and Art McKee in West Uintah County. Each winner will be presented with a plaque from the American Cancer Society designating them the "Ugliest" Person in their communities. In all. $627 was contributed to the American Cancer Society. KNEU and the American Cancer Society wish to thank everyone who participated in the Ugly Person contest. They also issue a warning to those who weren't nominated "Wait till next year!" |
