Show Vera Snow B I Phone 789-0628 I Jensen history publication set for fall Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cowan took the first section of the "Jensen History" book to the publisher Friday. He was reportedly pleased with the materials received. The remaining sections will go in during Sept. and early October. The book should come off the press by late October or early in November. Rita Ruppe accompanied by Coleen Wheeler motored to Provo, August 30. Rita attended Parent Orientation at BYU. Coleen visited a friend and met her friends fiancee. Cal Ruppe, son of Jack and Rita Ruppe, enrolled in BYU last week. Jim Robinson, his son and oldest daughter were in Jensen Tuesday, enroute to Provo where he took a mare and colt for winter care. The children were taken to Salt Lake airport to return to CA. They had spent the summer with Jim and Marg. Thursday, Jim met his wife, Marg, at the Salt Lake airport and the two of them motored to Blue Mt. where they were guests at the Ross Snow cabin. Another guest enjoying the mountain overnight was, Joe Haslem, great-uncle great-uncle of Jim Robinson, and a number of Jensen friends. Saturday Jim and Marg visited various relatives in Jensen before returning to their home in Massachusetts, where they run a drapery business. Auer Warren was hospitalized at St. Marks in Salt Lake for a few days where he underwent various tests to determine cause of severe headaches. Thyroid problems were detected. After he and Reita returned home they went to the mountains in Colorado for a rest vacation. Newell and Alice Snow returned home Thursday after a ten day visit with Milo and Ollie Snow in Canby, Oregon. They flew from Portland to Salt Lake and were met by Meril Snow at the airport. Newell and Milo are brothers. Amanda Jones was a visitor in Jensen recently, visiting at Josie Stewarts, Melanie Hewetts and Dale Stewarts. Marba Ainge attended the Fletcher reunion held Saturday evening at Remember the Maine Park. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Hewett and son motored to Salt Lake to visit Monte's parents and celebrate Monte's birthday. bir-thday. Mr. and Mrs. Lute Stewart motored to Vernal Friday to help celebrate the birthday of their son. Gene. All of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Stewarts family were there and Mr. and Mrs. Warren. After leaving Gene's home, Lute and Jose went to Edgar and Amanda Jone's home to congratulate Amanda on her 80th birthday. Amanda is in good health and enjoying life. A painting of special interest, now on display at the Uintah County Library, is the Jensen Ferry boat. The artist, David Ahrnsbrak, does a lot of research before capturing history in oils. Five other historical paintings of surrounding surroun-ding areas hang with "The Jensen Ferry." The parents of Stan and Bill Wheeler have been visiting in those respective homes this week. Visiting at the John and Sherie Dickey home this weekend were John's parents Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dickey of Payson, Ut. and John's two sisters, their husbands and families, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Erickson and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Fowers. They were here for the Leland Dickey reunion and were in attendance to the baptism and conformation con-formation of Eric Dickey, son of the John Dickey's. Shirley and Bernice Ainge from the Moon Lake Power plant near Neola, Utah were also visitors at the John Dickey's, Sunday, and attended the conformation of their grandson, Eric, at church Sunday afternoon. Fran and Gladys Peterson made a trip to Grand Junction, Colorado and brought back a load of peaches and pears. The Boyd Snows motored to St. George Friday afternoon to visit Mary Anne's parents and be in attendance at the Webb family reunion. They returned Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sharp and family of North Salt Lake were visiting relatives and friends the Labor Day weekend. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sharp. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Raines, presently of Bonanza, are anxiously looking forward to making their permanent per-manent home in Jensen. Arlen and Susan Peterson are hopefully looking forward to bringing their infant son home this coming weekend from the Primary Children's Hospital. Jack and Tracy Haslem from Suzanville, CA. were overnight guests of Jack's parents, Joe and Ruth Haslem. They were enroute to the Ram sale at Craig, Co. Tracy brought a load of his young Suffolk rams for sale. A family reunion was held at the home of Stella Ainges mother up Little Brush Creek. Resided Stella and Leon Ainge, Martha Iaura and Floyd and many of their married children and families were in attendance. Bueluh Gurr reports her husband, Karl, is doing fine after having surgery at Uintah County Hospital earlier in the week. She brought him home Sunday morning. John Rasmussen is recuperating at home after having had open-heart surgery at St. Mark's hospital recently. Nell's sister is staying with the Rasmussens for a while. Marynell Snow had charge of the Post Office Friday and Saturday while the postmaster, Jim Dikes, was gone to Post-Masters Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Gardner, Chino, CA. and two grandsons, Brett and Brian Woods of Orange, CA., were recent visitors in Jensen. They were here for the Nile and Ella Ainge family reunion held August 25 at the Moon Lake Power Plant above Neola. At that reunion George Ainge was elected president, and his sister, Rose Robinson, was made vice-president and Secretary for the ensuing two years. |
