Show SINGULAR CIRCUMSTANCE. Mr. A. C. Christiansen of Brigham City informs us that a few days since a 3-year-old child of Mr. Horsley, of that place, was taken sick and for some hours was very feverish. Thinking perhaps it might be that the child was coming down with the measles, Mr. H. examined the child closely, and found on one side of its neck a large red spot, resembling a spider bite. The father immediately applied some ammonia to the spot, and the consequence was that in a few moments after the application, matter was discharged from the inflamed spot, and soon after a live worm, about three quarters of an inch long. As soon as this happened the little fellow experienced relief and it was not long before all symptoms of illness had left him. The case is a singular one, and may be of considerable interest to our medical friends. - Junction. |
