Show BOP- Wednesday, September 27th a jolly crowd went to A. B. Mad-scn's Mad-scn's ranch and had a real old fashioned husking bee, all but the dance on the barn floor. However How-ever the dance was substituted with a real chicken dinner. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Erickson, Mr. and Airs. A. O. Madsen and Mr3. Velma Field-sted Field-sted and the A. B. Madsen family. Mr. Madsen raised the best corn ever seen in the Basin according to all reports. He picked the best ears from four acres and had 1 about 200 bushels. The stalks stood 12 feet high or more, Well our ex-county agent should be here to tell you about it. Several other farmers raised fine crops of corn this j'ear. o Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Madsen celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, a large crowd was there. The evening was spent in singing, dancing and eating eat-ing the delicious refreshments which were served. o Friday Mrs. E. E. Cox entertained entertain-ed at a quilting bee. Mrs. H. A, Pace went to Provo Friday, she and Mrs. Fortie of Mt. Emmons took Mrs. Fortie's little daughter to have her tonsils removed. o Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Johansen left for Logan on Sunday, October 1st, Mr. Johansen went for medical med-ical treatment. Mrs. R. Titcomb has moved in to town so as to put the children in school. o Mrs. J. Anderson of Talmage visited at the F. E. Reynolds home on Friday. Tuesday the R.. S. held their first meeting of the season, with an average attendance. o Altonah, Bluebell, Mt. Emmons, and Boneta sent a delegation of school patrons to meet with the school board in the interest of the schools. o Monday we enjoyed a much needed shower. - o It begins to look as if winter might be just around the corner the way the wood is coming into, town. We learned today that Mrs. H. A. Pace has had her tonsils removed re-moved and some teeth extracted while in Provo, she is still at Provo. . |
