Show Area streams picked up a little water blows in area rivers anil streams have increased a little due to recent piecipilalion. it was announced this week by the Bureau of Reclamation office in Salt I ake City. The Colorado river above lake Powell bus increased to about 57 cubic meters per second at Wcstwater Canyon, and to 141 cubic meters per second at Cataract Canyon. Lake Powell is at elevation 3,640 feet, down 8 feet since the middle of June. It is expected to be drawn down to elevation 3,628 feet by next spring. In the Grand Canyon, releases will remain above the seasonal average for the remainder of September. But, releases will be reduced in October. Minimum releases will be from 85 cubic meters per second to 28 meters, the usual flow in October. However, How-ever, this low minimum will be maintained fur longer periods, especially on weekends. The Green River is flowing about 80 cubic meters per second al the town of Green River, and Ibis flow may decrease in October, according to the Bureau of Reclamation. |
