Show "i New leaders and assistants and old hand Girl Scout leaders lead-ers met with District Vn Advisor Jan Oliveto from Price for morning and evening sessions training. Our District usually registers during February, Feb-ruary, but all of Utah Council will be registering during the months of October and November No-vember this year. Training calendars were passed out and Safety Wise books were gone over. LAGOON 100 is a new program to encourage girls to get troops up to full capacity and start this September. A total 100 points must be earned as a troop, not on individual girl basis and each member of the troops will get 5 free tickets for tilt-a whirl, sky flight, roco plane, space scrambler rides and swimming. swim-ming. The 100 points must be earned by June 30, 1978 in such areas as participation in inter-troop activity, knowledge know-ledge of campcraft skills, do a service project, demonstrate understanding of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, etc. All for a fun day at Lagoon for troops in the Salt Lake area, for troops in the outlying areas, a 3 day camping trip to take in their Lagoon Day and explore other areas of Salt Lake promises to be fun! Dates for upcoming events: Service Team meeting Scout House Mon.. Sept. 26. 7:30 p.m. Conference for Seniors "Adventures "Ad-ventures in Magic. Music. Food. Art, and Nature" to be held at Camp Cloud Rim. Oct. 7, 8. and 9. "Women in Space and On the Ground" for Seniors interested in military careers or as civilian employees. em-ployees. Hill Air Force Base Theatre. Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. School is out for UEA this day on a Thurs. so this Career Exploration trip is possible. Contact your leader and Neighborhood Chairman for further information. Jan Oliveto will be traveling travel-ing south Wed. and Thurs. getting troops going in Monti-cello, Monti-cello, Montezuma Creek and Bluff and new troops in Bland-ing Bland-ing this year where we have never had Girl Scouts before. Traveling with her will be Kathy Purvance, Staff Aide out of Red Rocks Neighborhood Neighbor-hood and Danny Winfield, District VII Chairman. |
