Show I ' Queen contest deadline is approaching Young ladies wishing to enter as contestants in the Jaycees Diamond Jubilee event, ev-ent, the Canyonlands Beauty Pageant, are reminded that applications are due to be turned in to Martin Hamaker on Friday, Sept. 23, by 5 p.m. Plans for the pageant are falling into place nicely, according to Mr. Hamaker. Three more girls have made official entry into the contest, bringing the total of beauties to eight. Olivia DeLong, sponsored by DeLong Realty; Cheryl Ann Harmison, sponsored spon-sored by J & B Body; and Debbie Sherrl Layton, sponsored spon-sored by Layton's Phillips 66 will also be displaying their charm, beauty, and talent before the out-of-town judges. The pageant will take place at Star Hall on Saturday, Oct. 1. Admission of $1 will be charged and a souvenir program pro-gram will be available. A scholarship fund has been set up by the Jaycees, as part of the award to Miss Moab Diamond Jubilee. The queen and her court will also grace the parade on Oct. 8, and Rim Rock Flowers will be providing a beautiful bouquet to honor the newly crowned queen. |
