Show Summer Story Hour Ends, Winners Announced The Library's summer story hour ended with a party Thursday and awards were given for the children who read the most books in three different age bracketts. In the 6-7-8 years old division Shauna Nelson, 6-years-old read 154 books, Rhonda Edwards, 8-years-old, read 150 books; Jacque foung, 8-years-old, 122 books; and Eric Nelson, 8-years-old, 100. In the 9-10 years old bracket Jim and Carol Holyoak both read 53 books and Jim Winfield read 42 books. Susan Holyoak read 45 kooks in the 11-12 years old bracket and John Winfield 43 I books. The Summer Reading Story Hour has been going on for the-' last 9 weeks. Once a week the children are invited to listen to stories and to do crafts. The average attendance is 68 children. It is a part of a state-wide program for the enjoyment of reading. The program has worked this summer with the help of Gloria Denney, Sharon Ballind, and Jamie Holyoak. |
