Show Indian Creek-Dry Valley Planning Beqinnina The Bureau of Land Management, Man-agement, Moab District has initiated its planning phase of the Indian Creek-Dry Valley ud Monticello planning units, iccording to S. Gene Day, Moab District Manager. These planning units are within the Canyon Resource Area and are located in the northeastern portion of San Juan County. The planning units are bounded boun-ded on the north by the Moab District-Manti LaSal National Forest and Kane Springs Canyon; on the west by the Colorado River and Canyon-linds Canyon-linds National Park; on the south by the Monticello-Manti LaSal National Forest and State Highway 666; and on the east by the Utah and Colorado border. Communities within this area include Monticello, Ucolo, and LaSal. the planning units contain 774,553 acres of which 509,227 acres are manager by BLM. Now that the planning in this area is just beginning, the BLM encourages and welcomes wel-comes public input and data by anyone who has an interest in the management of these public lands. Once resource data is gathered, analyzed and recommendations formulated, public workshops and other meetings will be held. Interested Interes-ted parties may comment on resource data, inventories, specific problems or potential conflicts and management recommendations which may apply to the area.
