Show Amended Budget Adopted Monday The Grand County Commission passed an amended budget for 1976 Monday following a public hearing to accept comment on proposed changes. The only change made in the proposed amended budget, as printed, was an addition of $5,000 for the county's bicentennial project at Lions Park. This additional money will insure the matching of either in-kind services or revenue, as required for bicentennial grants. The amended 1976 budget of $1,230,-200 $1,230,-200 is $263,200 over the original budget for the year. In other action the Commission approved mill levies for the year as follows: school district, 41.39; county general purpose, 14; library, 1; cemetery, .5; water conservancy, 2; Moab mosquito ' district, .4; Moab valley fire protection, 3; Moab City, 19.50. This will result in a total Moab City levy of 81.79 mills. The Green River City levy was set at 26.5, which, plus the district levy, will total 85.39 mills. Dixie Barker, during the Commission meeting, appeared to request an additional $344 for improvements of the announcer's stand in the recreation field. The Commission, however, voted to deny the request and put no further funds into the project presently. Action was taken on an offer made by Pete Byrd to sell 90.178 shares of Moab Irrigation water to the County. The Commission voted to purchase the shares at a cost of $12,500. On request of County Recorder Alice McKinney the Commission approved the expenditure of $167 for Deputy Recorder Maxine Alexander to attend a Recorder's workshop in Heber, Utah, Sept. 15. |
