Representatives of three major uranium-vanadium uranium-vanadium milling companies com-panies were present. They were Albert E. Mr. Dearth discussed the problems encountered encounter-ed by Atlas in proeeed- ing with its proposed extended milling plans, largely due to new licensing li-censing requirements of the Environmental Protection Pro-tection Agency. In this connection, it was the prevailing opinion of those present that by each member communicating commun-icating directly with his Congressman, a great deal of help could be generated gen-erated in the matter of eliminating a lot of misunderstanding mis-understanding between environmentalists and those working on proposed propos-ed new milling facilities. Mr. Sharmin, of Union Un-ion Carbide, could offer no encouragement as to the early improvement in the uranium-vanadium ore market. Apparently, it was his opinion that any such hoped-for improvement im-provement was some distance in the future. Mr. Little, of Cotter, also stated that he could envision no early improvement im-provement in the uranium uran-ium ore marketing situation. sit-uation. Mr. Tom High, representing rep-resenting the Colorado Bureau of Mines, made an extended talk on the good and bad angles of environmental entanglements. entangle-ments. There was also considerable con-siderable discussion as to the announced early release, ty the Atomic Energy Commission of the ore blocks held in reserve for several years in the Uravan Mineral Mi-neral Belt bv the A EC. Further information as to plans for this proposed pro-posed release and the acquirment of said various var-ious ore blocks have been promised for the near future.
