Show Rotary Club is Making Plans for Graduates Committee Chairman Izzy Nelson states that interviews with applicants for Rotary scholarship will be held on May 3. 1977. Each graduating senior will receive a letter of notification of the scholarship availability. One scholarship in the academic aca-demic or vocational area will be awarded in the amount of S500. Plans for the overnight Senior party following graduation gradu-ation are under way. Committee Commit-tee Chairman Glen Bunce announces that some interest-ting interest-ting changes from the format of previous years will be incorporated in the party plans. Speaker at Rotary's regular meeting April 4 at the SunDowner was Bob Rose, who discussed Rampart Cave, which is located in Lade Meade National Recreation Area. As a career park service man, Rose had the opportunity to explore the cave after its discovery. He explained that there is now a fire in the cave and the park service doesn't know how to put it out. What is burning is dung from a now-extinct species of ground sloth. The concern is that this research material may be completely destroyed if the fire isn't put out. |
