Show Police Car Damaged In Chase & Arrest ri An accident involving a I Moab Police vehicle was I investigated Oct. 8 by the Utah j Highway Patrol. Officer Charles Snodgrass, driving a 1976 Ford owned by Moab City, was pursuing Delford Hotz, 25, driving a J )69 GMC pickup, at 5:45 a.m. M the intersection of 5th West j and Marcus Court. ) Hotz would not stop and ; Officer Snodgrass pulled along , side the pickup. It swerved j into the police car, and they ; traveled along together a distance before the pickup ran Hotz was cited for failure to stop and driving while intoxi-. intoxi-. cated. There was about $142 damage to the patrol car. City Police report a number of other accidents since October 1. On Oct. 2 at 3:45 p.m. on Locust Lane, Kim L. Neal, driving east in a 1976 Dats un, lost control and crossed the roadway hitting a utility pole by the LDS Church. There was about $1,000 damage to the vehicle and Neal was cited for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. On Oct 4 at 3:30 p.m. in the City Market parking lot, Brenda Ruth Brown, driving a 1973 Ford, hit the rear of a 1975 Matador belonging to Mary Ahtsosie, doing about $200 damage to the Matador and $100 damage to the Ford. There were no citations as the accident was on private property. On Oct. 8 at 1:57 a.m. on 2nd North, a 1975 Chevrolet pickup belonging to Mark Steele had been parked and was hit by an unknown vehicle. There was about $150 damage done. On Oct. 9 on the hill just north of the Husky Station, Thomas Neal Fox drove up the hill in a 1955 Jeep, lost control and the vehicle rolled back down, going off the road. There was about $150 damage to the Jeep, and 4 other teenagers who were passen- gers jumped out. No one was hurt. There were no citations .as the accident was on private property. On Oct. 4 two rear wheels and tires were taken from a vehicle belonging to David Stewart while it was parked at the Husky Station. Value is about $175. Also Oct. 4 there was an act of vandalism done to a car belonging to Linda Brown which was parked at Walnut Lane Trailer Court. Someone pulled the distributor cap and wires loose. |
