Card Of Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Whiteside, White-side, wish to thank the Firemen for their prompt turnout and successful search for Thad, on Friday afternoon. Young Thad's disappearance roused the Thompson Avenue neighborhood, and when he couldn't be found in half an hour or so, someone suggested calling the fire department. The boys turned out promptly, with the siren on, and Thad stood up in the weeds where he had been hiding, so that he could see what was going on. His curly head was spotted by i the boys and he was returned home. Weeds? What Weeds? I don't mean to editoria-lize-I DO mean to editorialize. When the weeds get tall i enough so that we lose the i younger generation, it is time I to do something about them. This should have been done three months ago when those tough old weeds were small. It almost becomes a logging operation to clear the sidewalks side-walks at this point, but it would seem that the sidewalk up to the schoolhouse ought . to, at least be cleared. And I don't mean burned so that we have to look at the unsightly black stubs, until they are overgrown by next years weed crop-I mean cut, raked, and hauled away. How . about it City Fathers?
