Show Frontier to Quit Seven Cities in Montana DENVER, COLO., June 19 1969 Seven Montana communities com-munities face the ' possible loss of scheduled air service from Frontier ' Airlines. At a special meeting held in Frontier's Fron-tier's general offices in Denver Den-ver today, nine members of the newly formed Northern Plains Transportation council coun-cil representing the cities of Miles City, Glendive, Sidney, Wolf Point, Glasow, Havre and Louistown met with the president of Frontier Airlines, Air-lines, E. Paul Burke, and other Frontier representatives. representa-tives. The meeting was originally original-ly called to learn of Frontier's Fron-tier's future plans for air service for these . Montana communities, Mr. Burke then revealed that as a result re-sult of a continuing poor financial fin-ancial position of the airline air-line and strong indications that subsidy payments will not be increased for operating operat-ing scheduled service to low passenger traffic generating generat-ing . areas, Frontier . would probably find it necessary to seek suspension of its eastern. Montana services. Representatives of the Northern Plains Transportation Transporta-tion Council suggested possible pos-sible means for improving Frontier's financial position in its operations in Montana which would make it possible pos-sible for the carrier to continue con-tinue its presently scheduled services on route segments between Billings and Willi-ston, Willi-ston, North Dakota, Billings and Great Falls and Great Falls-Williston which also servo these intermediate Montana cities. The members mem-bers of the Council expressed express-ed their deep concern with respect to this announcement announce-ment and agreed to take the issue back to their conima ties for further discussion ar.d consideration.
