Show County Recorders Meet hi San Juan County Southeast Utah is becoming becom-ing a convention mecca, it seems. San Juan County this week is hosting the Utah County Recorders. San Juan County Recorder Arvilla Warren said that the meetings in Monticello get underway this afternoon (Thursday) with a "Get Acquainted with San Juan County" film presentation pre-sentation through the courtesy cour-tesy of the County Tourist and Publicity Council. Registration will take place Friday at the County Recorder's office and the meetings begin in the Courtroom Court-room at 9:30. Conducting the mornings agenda will be Glen Acomb, Chief Deputy from the Salt Lake City, office. Delivering the invocation will be County Coun-ty Attorney F. Bennion Redd. Mayor K. R. Bailey of Mon--ticello will then present the greetings to the County Recorders Re-corders from throughout the state. The subject of microfilming microfilm-ing will be discussed Friday morning by Steve Ward from the Attorney General's office and by Utah State Archivist Ar-chivist Harold E. Jacobson. Friday " afternoon's agenda will be under the direction of Cache County Recorder Gretta Smith. Emery County Coun-ty Recorder Estella Guymon will present the subjects of upgrading the recorder's office of-fice and recording mining claims. Margarite Bourne, Davis County Recorder will deliver a talk on planning procedures which will be followed fol-lowed by a question and answer ans-wer period. The County Recorders will be given a dinner and vari- ety program at the LDS Church in Monticello Friday evening. . Saturday's program will begin with an Early Bird Breakfast at the Lariat Cafe and tours will be conducted to the Canyon Rims Overlook Over-look that morning. Mrs. Warren said Tuesday that 50 are registered for the County Recorder's Convention Con-vention which includes 24 of the 29 County Recorders of the stale. |
