The group of young adventurers camped in Lions Park Monday Mon-day night and were drenched throughout due to the intensive inten-sive rains which hit the area that night. They spent ha;f of Tuesday drying their bed- rolls and clothes in a local laundromat. With rains con-I con-I muing Tuesday the group made arrangements with Moab Lanes Family Center where they spent several hours enjoying the new facilities fa-cilities there. Director of the group Bob Feldep complimented Moab Lanes saying that it was "one of the most ideal all around centers" he had seen. Folder is the Director of Business Administration for the Los Angeles YMCA who came with the group of youth . on this trip as their supervisor. Rev. Dana Smith of the St. Luke's Presbyterian Presbyter-ian Church was also witn the group as supervisor. One of the counselors along al-ong on the trip was Denny Rogers, a UCLA track star who last weekend competed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's events in Tennessee where he made the All America Team. He flew to Phoenix and joined the group at Prescott riding with them to Moab for the. river trip. The' group was made comfortable com-fortable in the Grand County High School gymnasium on Tuesday night as rains had caused them to stay over. They left with Henry Fal-any's Fal-any's White Water River Expeditions Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with plans to spend three days on the Colorado getting out at Hite. Falany said that he has five groups scheduled to leave Moab this summer. Another, group of travelers which spent time in Moab this past week was the Northern Nor-thern California Unit of the Wally Byam Caravan Club. This group consisted of 26 Airsfream Travel Trailers, having a destination of Laramie, Lar-amie, Wyoming; where they will gather with 2500 units for the International Rally of Airstream Trailers. The International In-ternational Rally is starting today with participants planning plan-ning to celebrate the birthday birth-day of Wally Byam who was the originator of the Air-stream. Air-stream. Caravan Leader Clarence Johnson said he plans to form another group to return to Moab later this fall and spend more time here getting acquainted with the scenery. Johnson took with him 50 Destination Moab Gift Packets Pa-ckets to disburse to the other oth-er caravan leaders meeting at Laramie this weekend.
