The Utah Veterinary Medical Medi-cal Association, meeting in Nioab for their 6jth convention, conven-tion, elected officers Friday and conducted educational seminars relating to their ipractice. Keynote speaker for Friday's Fri-day's luncheon was Lewis Harris, Chairman of th Board of Northern Laboratories Labora-tories at Lincoln, Nebraska. Harris' topic was "Your Life in 1990" in which wa3 discussed various aspects of the future according to the way it looks to scientists. Harris stated that the next 15 years would see the cattle cat-tle industry move mostly into in-to buildings much like the chicken industry of today. He also talked about the increasing in-creasing developments of plant proteins which are becoming be-coming competitive to animal an-imal protein and may eventually event-ually become a major market mar-ket item. Harris related other oth-er future scenes not especially especi-ally relating to veterinary medicine. .Workshops both Thursday and Friday provided veterinarians veter-inarians the opportunity to share surgical . techniques. The workshop included both slide presentations and actual act-ual animal observation. The seminars were held in Star Hall. Elected to office in the Utah Veterinary Medical Association As-sociation were the following: New president of the organization or-ganization is Dr. Royal A. Bagley of Moroni who took the place of Danniel S. Dennis Den-nis of Roosevelt. President Elect is Dr. Ira G. Liljenquist of Ogden. Chosen as three year director direct-or was Dr. Richard E. Ha-zen Ha-zen of St. George. Rejected to the position of Secretary-Treasurer Secretary-Treasurer was Dr. Jay W. Call. Retained as Board members were Dr. Joe E. Tugaw of Salt Lake City and Dr. Kenneth Creer of Pro-vo. Pro-vo. New officers in the Women's Wo-men's Auxiliary included Mrs. Joseph Tugaw as president; presi-dent; Mrs. Richard Hazen, president Elect; Mrs. Royal Bagley, Memfhership Secretary; Secre-tary; Mrs. Thair Carver, Secretary - Treasurer; Le-Grande Le-Grande Schupe, Historian. Mrs. Richard Jongs was the past president of the Woman's Wo-man's Auxiliary. Approximately 150 Veterinarians Veter-inarians and their wives from the state attended last week's convention in Moab.
