Show Star Hall music program scheduled for Saturdav Mrs. Muriel Winbourn presents Miss Katy White and Miss Maxine Brown in a program of salute featuring Tschaikowsky, on April 8, at 2 p.m. in Star Hall. Honored are Wendell Bowthorpe, retiring re-tiring music, drama, and ballet teacher at GCHS; Mrs. Marilyn Maxwell, queen of music and drama in the elementary grades; Mrs. Madolyn Knight, daughter of the late violinist, niece of the late Judge C. R. Christensen, and 14 year accompaniest for Mr. Bowthorpe and Mrs. Maxwell; and Mrs. Gwen Meador, soloist and choir director. Miss White and Miss Brown, both accomplished pianists, age 15, will play a selection of Tschaikowsky Tschaikow-sky from the new collection collect-ion of Alexander Shealy in its original form. The girls have worked on the program since November. They started as beginners only 2 12 years ago. Katy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merald White and granddaughter of Mrs. Madolyn Knight. Maxine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Brown who worked with Monticello High School in raising $12,000 for their excellent band to travel to Calgary, Canada where they won the prize for Best American Band. Mr. and Mrs. Brown chaperoned chaper-oned 93 band students and their instruments for the great celebration. Bands from all over America attended. The band marched 4 hours during the stampede celebration. cele-bration. A salute to the Browns. The program will be followed by the song America the Beautiful, with the audience participating partici-pating and led by Mr. Howard Knight and Mr. Paul Drake.
