For individuals who rent, the amount of refund is based on 10 per cent of the gross rent paid during 1977, and the amount of household income there was during 1977. The deadline for filing an application for refund is April 15th. If you are eligible or are aware of anyone who is, contact the State Tax Commission, 200 State Office Building, Salt Lake City, Utah 84134, or phone 533-5355, or contact your local Division Divi-sion of Aging or community commun-ity senior citizen center. Commissioner Brennan emphasizes that the forms are easy to complete and personnel from these agencies are available to assist in completing them. To date, 4,000 claims have been processed. The average amount of refund per claim is $99.00. Refund Re-fund checks will be mailed during the first part of May. |
