On March 30 Roger Foster Stratton appeared on charges of disorderly conduct and illegal consumption con-sumption of alcohol. He was ordered to pay a $75 fine and serve 15 days in jail, with the jail sentence suspended on payment of the fine. Tracy Allen Bonds appeared on the same date on the same charges as Stratton. He entered a plea of guilty to the charge of illegal consumption, and City Attorney R. H. Ruggeri moved that the disorderly conduct charge be dismissed. Bonds was sentenced to pay a $50 fine or serve 10 days in the county jail. On March 31, Gary E. Stoops appeared on a charge of illegal possession posses-sion of a controlled substance. sub-stance. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced senten-ced to pay a $150 fine and serve 30 days in jail, with the jail sentence suspended suspend-ed on payment of the fine. Kevin M. Johnson appeared March 31 on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating intoxi-cating liquor (DUI) and illegal possession of a controlled substance. He entered a plea of guilty to the DUI charge and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine and serve 40 days in the county jail. He was placed on probation for 1 year. The second charge was dismissed on motion of the County Attorney Bill Benge. The same day, Andrew Kirk Steen appeared for trial on a charge of failure to keep proper lookout. Judge E. Patrick McGuire sat as judge prc-tem on the case, which was prosecuted pro-secuted by Bill Benge, acting as city attorney pro-tem. Following trial Steen was found guilty and was sentenced to pay a $35 fine. Also March 31, Carla A. Post appeared on a charge of issuing a series of bad checks which had been a Class A misdemeanor charge and was reduced to a Class B misdemeanor. She entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to serve 40 days in the county jail.
