Baptist Church Members Exceed World Mission Goal Members of the Moab Community Com-munity Baptist Church nearly tripled their original goal of $.r),il()(l by pledging $14,580 to the World Mission Campaign in recent weeks. The pledges are to be paid over a .3 year period. Purpose of the campaign was to raise capital funds for the preaching, preach-ing, teaching, and healing mission mis-sion of American Baptists at home and abroad, according to Kurt Linn, a director of the fund drive. Eighty one families or individuals ind-ividuals joined together to make the campaign a success. Five families pledged $540 each, five other families pledged pled-ged $,'!()0 each, fifty one families fam-ilies pledges $180 each, and twenty families pledged an average of $45 each. This past Sunday, Mrs. Paul Lewis, a missionary on leave from Southeast Asia, spoke to the congregation about the Christian work in Burma and told the local congregation how some of the gifts to the World Mission Campaign will be used there. |
