Show LARK REPLACES OLD SCHOOL HOUSE One of the school buildings built when Salt Lake County school districts were consolidated consolidat-ed just after the turn of the century, the old faded red brick Lark school may have seen its last service. Workmen are pressing press-ing construction of the new Lark school in an effort to complete it for the opening of school next fall. The old and the new schools presently share the same site. The ultra-modern one-story construction, con-struction, of reinforced concrete and bright buff brick, rises on the north and east sides of the tiny two-floor school. But when the new unit is finished, the old one will be razed. Lark School largest of three Jordan school district units under un-der construction at this time is costing $315,000 and will include, in its capacity to accommodate 210 pupils, a multiple-purpose room offering play area and auditorium facilities and seven classrooms. General contractor at Lark, Eutler and Davis Construction Co., also is building a stadium house at Bingham nigh school in Copperton for Jordan school district. O |
