Show B.D.A.A .FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp MEMBERSHIP DRIVE UNDERWAY Starting this week and continuing con-tinuing until every man, woman and child in Lark, Copperfield, Highland Boy, Copperton, Bingham Bing-ham and any other immediate localities, lo-calities, have been shown the advantages of being active members, mem-bers, the BDAA hopes to enroll and furnish the best entertainment entertain-ment for all sports minded citizens citi-zens of the state's best sports community. The year round programs of the BDAA have been carefully chosen and carried out with just one purpose in mind. Improvement, Improve-ment, and enjoyment of working together and playing together for the common good of us all has been BDAA's aim, and we want everyone, young and old to take part in and enjoy our programs. lo Raise Membership Dues At a recent meeting of the BDAA Board of Directors, a decision de-cision was reached to raise the membership dues from 50c to 75c per month. In the past, the BDAA has been reluctant to increase dues, and tried to bring members mem-bers the utmost value for their money. To carry on the same activities ac-tivities as have been held and increase the recreation and entertainment en-tertainment values by sponsoring sponsor-ing a team in the Utah Industrial Baseball league, the directors felt it necessary, not only to gain new members, but to levy the small increase in dues. What Cooperation Means In growing and functioning as a worthwhile community enterprise, enter-prise, the BDAA has received the finest cooperation of Bingham's Bing-ham's business houses, the civic organizations, the vast mining concerns, outlying towns, and of Salt Lake County Recreation program, pro-gram, school authorities, and nearly every active sports enthusiast. en-thusiast. Without such support we could not function, with it we can and will promote community commu-nity growth and harmony along the lines that you members want. We ask you to join us, to help provide clean competition and entertainment for both youngsters young-sters and grown-ups and finally to get a bit more pleasure out of living. 'Now About Our Ball Club j The BDAA entry in the Industrial Indus-trial loop is at present untried, and a roster has not been com-i com-i pleted as yet. Manager Zaccaria has had a favorable turnout at training sessions and promises to field a more than fair team for the opener. A number of men from our last years amateur squad, along with several experienced players, play-ers, will comprise the local entry. en-try. There are several positions as yet not filled, and players interested in-terested should contact the manager man-ager or report to the practice field now. BDAA travels to Helper May 8 to open league play in a day game scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Helper, last year's champs, will nave another strong club, and our boys will have a tough chore ahead of them trying to win. Vou can bet we'll try, and if you fans give us the support, BDAA may not win the crown, but will give you good baseball along with some wins.. Work is progressing rapiaiy on the new lighting system and a grand opening night is being planned for baseball fans at first BDAA home game May 19. The tield itself will undergo some important changes, but should be remodeled and in beautiful condition for the opener.
