Show TV0 RECORDS BROKEN AT MOTORDROME Whlttler and Seymour Divide Di-vide Honors In Evening". Even-ing". Sport. , Ivor Bedaaa gave the fana another "rich dlah" in the shape of a motorcycle motor-cycle race meet at the motordrome last night and the monster crowd enjoyed every number on the program. - Everything Every-thing went off smoothly and competition competi-tion waa keen. The various machines appeared to be more evenly maaahed and there waa aa absolute abeeooe of the former oossldednees, Fred Whittler came back to earth last night. First he won the- metes race with McNeil In straight beats and then, hs surprised "quite afew"by coming out from third poaitioa ia the eight-mile open professions! and winning win-ning from Seymour and Ward with a burst of speed the like of which his hlerkel hae net shown this season. Key Seymour, on hie Indien, shared honors with Whittler by going out and setting a new rack record for the tare miles in a record trial. Although he Inished on a flat tire, the game little rider did the distance in 1:28 2-5, which ia remarkable time for a three-lap track. 8evmour also went out and woa the aix-mile open, but la order to get around Whittler end Ward he had te break the track record. His time was 4:20 flat. The match race between Whittler aad McNeil appeared one sided beeause Whittler eeemed to "have it on" the newcomer in several respects. He rode a more heady raee, had the speed to jro around when he chose and generallv outgeneraled McNeil. To McNeil 's area, it, however, can be said that it waa his first appearance on the local track at eight and it was plainly evident that he still has something to learn about riding rid-ing this particular track. The eight-mile aad six-mile open professional pro-fessional races wsre easily the features. Broad beck failed to get started in the six-mile, but Ward aad Whittler on Merkels and Seymour on aa Indian gave the fans the greatest kind of a raee. Ward set the pace most of the way with Heymour oa and Whittler in Seymour's pace. Seymour went eround at alap and a half to go, but Whittler wae not quite able to make the distance, although al-though he was right oa Seymour at the finish. The eight-mile again saw Ward In front, with Seymour and Whittler on In the order named. Bemstrom, RmaUIng and Thomas ware rapidly left behind by the trio In front, while Broad heck appeared ap-peared to he out of the running. Naturally, Nat-urally, the Tana kept their eyeo glued on the bunch In front, when euddenly they discerned through the dense emoke which hovered over the riders that Broad beck had crawled up In the front No one seemed to know how he hed gotten got-ten there, hut "Red" must have discovered discov-ered something on the way, and hie Mer-kel Mer-kel fairly flew. At a lap and a half to go, Whittler came out from behind with a terrific buret and Broad beck on. The two simply mowed down the distance and rapidly gained a lead which wae easily eufrlcfent to win. At a half-lap to go. Seymour wae eeen to slacken and shut off for some reason or other, but the hunch In front had disappeared at that, and they won hende down. Ward got In for third and Bernatrom, oa aa Indian, In-dian, finished fourth. Bemstrom won both of the claee B professional pro-fessional races on aa Indian with two fine rides. The trade rldere eame to grief In the very first event. Matt Warden won the first event at three miles, with Claflln and Johnson In a dead heat for second. After the three had gone about a euar-ter euar-ter of a lap beyond the finish Johnson must have Imagined that the others had suffered e cramp or eomethlng and that the race waa still on. He grasped the opportunity and tore Into Warden, his machine climbing on top of Warden's, and both of them went down. The -other reee In this class wae called off. as both Johnson's snd Warden'e maehlnee were badly amashed.
