Show IDEAL DAV BRINGS OUT THE CROWD i Lagoon Race Meeting Will Close Today; Walsh Leading Lead-ing Jockey Yesterday. I BT 0. B. WOODS. One of the largest crowds of the meeting attended Friday's races at the Lagoon track. Fifteen bookmakers bang np their slates for the final cntln of two days. The track was at Its beet, speculation waa very good and weather very warm. A. Walsh was the stsr jockey of the day, winning the fifth and sixth races. No handicap was down for decision, and the majority of the races were for horses thst were of the same class. The first race of the day was for two year-olds, at four and one half furlongs, fur-longs, seven horses going to the post, with Saltigrade a well played favorite at 7 to 5. To a good start Sanel, a previous winner, at once shot to the front snd made every post a winning one, getting the decision easily. Three lengths bsck Gomul was second, one sod "one half lengths in front of Roval Dollv. The favorite ran poorly, pulling up verv lame. drean Shore was a well played favorite favor-ite in the second race, at A to 5, and won in a hard drive by one-half length through a first class ride by Jockev ! Buxton. Ben I'ncas st 3 to' 1 closed ! very strong and was second easily; Acolin third. Tbs third race on the card was the first time at this meeting that the horses were asked to go one 'and one quarter miles. Elgin, with top weight. Ill pounds, was a strong favorite at 3 to S, but third was the best he could do. Marignt, at T to S. was the leader running run-ning into the stretch, but quit badly.
