All the alt.ratlona are about completed and It la planned to atari the mill tarty next week. The entire battery of Dleeter concentrating con-centrating tablra and Frue vannere will be put out of commission, and the work will be done more effectively by the Akin Clann classifiers and Porr thickener that are be ln Installed. All the old settling tanka will be put out of commlaelon by the chance and will only be used hereafter here-after for the storage of surplus water to provide against a sudden shortage. By t:.e changes that are belna made, the ore, after leaving the stamps, passes over the amalgam tables, where the free gold Is caught, thence goes to the tube mills, thence to the Aklns Clann classifiers, classi-fiers, whence the fines and slimes go to, the Porr thickener and the cyanide tanka. whtu the overall Is returned to the tube mills for regrlndlng. The pulp makes the same round again, until It flnallv reaches the cyanide tank. There will be no concentrators, the ex-, traction of value being made entirely by amalgamation and cyanide. The cyanide, solution Is. of course, put through the1 Butters filters and the gold precipitated i on tine shavings, and then turned Into bullion. The riewmMhod will ""really te.n-n The mining costs, as tTwllt rw-rtuce rw-rtuce the mill force by four men. Dese water and eleetrlc power will be needed, and there will be a large reduction in repairs and upkeep of machinery. - The mill Is now handling an average of about 170 tona per day. but the new management will somewhat Increase Its capacity as well as reduce operating :osla. Fair progress Is being made In sinking the shaft, which Is now down about ?5 feet. The shaft will be continued as long as the la-neons rocks prevail to Ittstlfy Knetratlng. Laterals on the 0-foot e are being steadily driven to open the ore bodies on that level, but nc attempt at-tempt will be made to drive on the level until the ahaft1 peases the S&O.fr-nt point Then the ftfln-font station will be completed and croee.nits and drifts sept out. No new ire of particular Importance Import-ance has recently been opened on Ihe old levela. but the supply continued sufficient suf-ficient to keep the mill working to Its Ml canacltv and have a good deal left when the new levels begin to produce. |
