The feature of next Thursday evening's even-ing's meet at the Wandamere motordrome motor-drome track will be a match race between be-tween Fred Whittler and Ray Seymour. Sey-mour. Whittler ia in splendid form and will ride to win in the hardest eon-test eon-test that has yet confronted him on the motordrome track. Seymour is conn dent, also, it is almost "sixes" to eboose between them for the outcome of the match. The race will be best two in Jhree, five, eight and ten-mile heats. The manner in whiftb 8cvmonrl lipped three seconds off the trsck record rec-ord placed his stock pretty high with the fans. Seymour also has the reeord of tsking more first places st the track this seaaon than any other professional rider. An item which adds more interest to the event is the fact that McNiel, who. failed to beat Whittler in the five-mile match race last Thursday evening, has announced that he will chaHenge the winner of the match race next Thurs-dsy Thurs-dsy night. McNiel says that his motor was not in good shape last Thursday. as he had only arrived from the coast a day or two before the meet. He also claims that the higher altitude here worked to a disadvantage for him, and he does not think last Thursday's race was a fair criterion by which to judge hia mark. By challenging the winner in the Whittler Seymour match, McNiel thinks he "will by then have had time to get somewhat acclimated and accus tomed to the track and will be ablo to show what he really can do ia the way of speed riding. i The card for next Thursday evening includes seven big events, outside ot the Whittler HevmoHT match rare. |
