Show TAFT Ai HA1SER EXCHANGE GREETINGS WASHINGTON'. Juo 27. Emperor William of Germany aod President Taft exchanged messages growing oat of the visit of tho American squadro to Kiel. The emperor's message read: "Following the invitation or Admiral Ad-miral Badger. I have had the pleure of lunching on board the United cjtates ship Louisiana, after which I inspected the erew and ship. I beg you to accept mv best compliments with regard to the fine erew and atate of efficiency and order which I found on this ne ship. Yon will, I am aura, be gratified to hear that the stars and a'ripee were well represented rep-resented in Kiel waters. I thank vou most ainearelv for sending this Bne sonadron to Kiel. I am happv to observe that relations of comradeship between tho officers and men of the two navies were aonn established. President Taft sent the following re "I greatly appreciate your kind telegram so cordial in its sentiments to the American navy, to whom It is a source of the greatest pride that your imperial maieatv honored our admiral by taking luncheon on the Louisiana and inspecting the erew and ship. I am very happy to know that th 'Americans were received at Kiel and that the offl-cere offl-cere and men of or navy had this favorable fa-vorable opportunity to make friends in the German navy for whose hospitality as well aa for your majeely's kind eg; preaaiona I aend very heartv thanks. |
