Show IRON BLOSSOM IS ' ADDING A TON FOR EVERY TON MINED The management of tha Knight Mines company is authority for the statement that they are adding a ton of ore to the reserves for every ton that is being extracted from the No. 1 haft. The exploration work is more satisfactory each month at this property, prop-erty, and the workings off the No. 3 haft an of more importance at this time than they have ever been in the kistorv of the company. A late visitor to the mine says that tha ahift coming off Sunday morning reported the finding of a cave in the drift off the SOO-foot level of the No. 3 haft. At the Knight offices in Provo it is reported that this cave is of large dimensions and that it is mineralized. It was disclosed by driving to the south of the shaft and it is believed that it will make under one of the old caves in the property, from which a considerable amount of ore was extracted. ex-tracted. The theory of some engineers ia Xuat laa company-is sow -opening up a avatera of eavea, which, while of a different character to thoae of the Colorado, Colo-rado, are most gratifying in that they mean ore of a commercial grade- will be found either in the caves or in proximity to them. The mine continues to produce heavily, heav-ily, though the ore is of an average lower grade than that produced by either the Colorado or Sioux Consolidated. Consoli-dated. From the No. 1 shaft there is being raised ISO tons of ore daily, and 100 tona are coming from the No. 3 workings. The owners showed their confidence in the ability of the property prop-erty to continue its heavy shipments for at least several years to come by entering into contracts to supply over 200 tons of ore dsily to the local smelting smelt-ing plants. Possibly the most interesting interest-ing development in this property, which will have an important bearing on the future of other mines in that locality, ia that the drills have attained a depth of over 200 feet below the 1 BOO foot level.. The eorea from these drills have not shown any ore aa yet, but some encouraging results have been reported several times, and it is possible pos-sible that something permanently in the shape of an ore body may be found at any time soon. |
