Show FURTHER ARRESTS SLGW TO FOLLOW IN TOOELE BANK CASE Officials Issue Statement Clearing Two Men They Arrested. Advices from Tooele this morning were that no further arrests had been made in connection with the recent robbery rob-bery of the Tooele- Commercial bank, though it is said that County Attorney William 8. Marks, and Hbcriff M. M. Bush, a re in possession of evidence whivh points to a young man who has not vet been arrested, as at least an accomplice in the robbery. This evidence was given to the officials offi-cials by VY. L. Irvine Ir-vine and Joseph Balluff, charging said parties with the crimes of robbing rob-bing the Commercial bank of Tooele, on June 7. 1911. we desire to say that we have carefully Investigated sll clues which we thought might . connect said Irvine and Balluff with said rohbery and find that there Is no evidence whatever connecting them with the rohbery. Every suspicious sus-picious circumstance has been explained ex-plained to our complete satisfaction, and we sre now alteolutely satisfied of the Innocence of these psrtles. and we consider this public etste-nient etste-nient and vindication Justly due them. BI'HH. , Sheriff of Tooele County, Uteh. Mr. Irvine's investigation ia said to have been thorough and to have pointed point-ed unerringly to the men who are guiltv of the" robbery. Attention has been directed by Mr. Irvine nnd his friends to the energy displayed by the Tooele officers in bringing about the arrest of Irvinn and Ballnff and the fact that within, twenty-four hours thereafter theso same officers learned the identity of the actual robbers of the bank, when they began a scramble to let go so far as Irvine and Balluff were concerned, and at the same time to protect the men who are actually guilty of the crime. The present plan of the Tooele officers, offi-cers, so far aa known, is to dismiss the ease against Irvine and Balluff to-Imorrow. to-Imorrow. Whether or not their attorneys attor-neys will make a formal objection to the diaroissal ia not known. |
