Sheepmen of Utah are watching- with Intense interest the outcome of, the present pres-ent difficulty between the eheep and cattlemen cat-tlemen of Wyoming, where number of them have been In the habit of rraalnf their flocks. The situation between the sheep and cattlemen is at .the breaking; point and serious trouble is anticipated. The cattlemen ae alleged to be responsible respon-sible for notices which have been posted In the last few days warning sheepmen to get their herds out of the district on fiain of death to the herders and the kill-Dgot kill-Dgot all the aheep. xne trouDie la one or long standing "and much bitterness which already has . resulted in the killing of two or three sheep herders. A little more than a year ago Ernest II. Oarslte, a resident of west Jordan In this county, who wae employed em-ployed as a herder by Hatch Brothers, -was murdered in Wyoming. It waa claimed at the time ha waa killed by or-' or-' der of the cattlemen, and a reward of several hundred dollars was offered for the capture of the parties guilty of the crime. No arrests were ever made, however. how-ever. A little less than two weeks ago one of the aheep camps in the trouble district was raided. The herder waa bound and garged and more than 200 head of the - flock killed. It was after that time that the notices warning the sheepmen to get out of the country were posted. . It is feared by the aheepmen of this section that trouble of the most serious nature wfll occur In the next few daya. |
