Show PATRIARCH OF SALVATION MAY VISIT THIS C1TY Officers of the privation Army In this city will make a strong effort to secure a visit from Gen. William Booth, father and leader of th Salvationist forces, next summer or fall. Gen. Booth Is now on the Atlantic ocean bound for New York. After spending two weeks In the American Ameri-can metropolis he will porceed to Canada, traveling then to the PaHflc coast to sail for Japan April 1. It Is believed he will return to England by way of the United States, visiting most of the principal cities of this country on the trip. The Salvationists believe this probably prob-ably will be their last opportunity to see the patriarch, as he Is nearly 78 years old. If he pays this city a visit, it Is planned that Salvationists from several towns In the neighborhood shall assemble here to do him honor. Officers of the army expect a visit this summer also frOm Miss Eva Booth, one of the daughters of the General, and the commander in the United States. Miss Booth succeeded her sister. Mrs. Booth-Tucker, Booth-Tucker, who was killed in a railway accident ac-cident in Kansas City a few years ago. |
