Show THIS STORY HAS MORAL FOR BOYS Youngster Who Was Tired of Home and Ran Away Is Now in Hospital .and Glad to Return. Harold Careswell, 14-year-old son of -Alfred E. Careswell, 120 H street, this city, Is lying In the county hospital at Los Angeles with a broken leg. Behind this brief announcement is the story of a boy who grew tired of home and parental control, and who wanted to see the. world. Harold started to work as a messenger messen-ger boy in this city about two years ago. He got in the habit of staying out late at nights. One night he did not come home at all and the frantic parents par-ents hunted every part of the city -' where they thought that a trace of him might be found. He returned home the next day. This was the first of a number of nights in which he did not go home. Finally he he ran away and was one for three months. Then he returned home and asked for another chance. In a few weeks the roving fever took possession of him again and for the ' second time he left home. Again he 'was gone for three months. Again he returned and was forgiven. The day before last Christmas he left home for the third time. The boy went to San Francisco, where he worked for a time, and then to Los Angeles, where he secured work with a railroad construction con-struction gang. A few days ago he fell from a grading machine and Droke his leg. His parents will have him return home as soon as he is able to travel. |
