Show MERGER TALK PREMATURE. That the much-tabooed story of the consolidation of the Bingham Central and the Bingham Standard Copper companies Is somewhat premature, was the opinion I given by Samuel Newhouee this morning before gathering up his luggage to take a run across the water. Newhouse would not consent to enter Into the merits of either of these Bingham propositions. He said that the details of consolidating such mining properties would require some time, and that he was too busily engaged in getting his papers together preparatory to making his trip to conclude such momentous mo-mentous matters at this time. Newhouse and D..H. Peery were closeted closet-ed the greater part of the time before the former took leave. It Is presumed that matters pertaining to the developing of some of the big properties at Alta were under discussion, as it is well known that Peery has large holdings In that camp, and . that he has been instrumental In getting such men as Newhouse Interested. While it Is not generally known, it is a fact that Peery was one of -he first men to take a hand in the bringing of a rum-be rum-be r of the Alta properties to the notice of the outside world. Much of the success of all the Columbus holdings hi thst region re-gion hss been brought about through his efforts. |
