Five wives were freed from partners of which they were weary yesterdav by Judge Morse. One of the string of default divorce cases was that of Mrs. Ellen H. Wickens Wood, who was suing James T. Wood, who, he aeserts, has failed to support her. He was one time a "popcorn'' man, but he kept his savings for himself, says Mrs. Wood, yhe is 62 years old, but says she has been compelled to take in washing to mako a living. They were married April 27, 1894. A divorce was granted her. Saying her husband "hit the hop" and "loved to roll in a chink bunk with a pipe of dope," Mrs. Martha Nor-strom Nor-strom secured a decree of divorce from Olaf W. Norstrom. The custody of their child was also given her. They were married October 1, 1902. Mrs. Caroline Whiting secured a divorce di-vorce from William Whiting on the grounds of desertion. They were mar--ried October 12. 1880. and Whiting is said to have deserted her November 23, 1906. Her maiden name of Caroline Phillips was restored. Mrs. - Jennie Cameron was divorced from David Cameron on the ground of desertion. Her maiden name of Jennie MeConuell, was granted her. ' ' On the same ground Mrs. Elizabeth' McNeil secured a decree of divorce from B.. N. McNeil. The v were married mar-ried October 13, 1905. The care of their daughter was awarded to the mother. ' All singing the praise- of ".Money Back" shoes, for spring and summer. It's remarkable re-markable to see the " best dressed men and women of this community at the busy shoe store all .the time buying buy-ing their footwear in keeping keep-ing with other apparel; The quality and price is a settled question. They all know it's -n pey's worth" or "money batii."1 . But this is where there are hundreds of up-to-the-minute styles that can't be found . elsewhere at prices that are right and to suit every purse.- Davis Shoe Co. - ' |
