White of Salt Lake City was reappointed Softball commissioner commis-sioner for the state of Utah for 1940, according to W. E. Landis, president ot the Amateur Softball association. It Is the fourth consecutive con-secutive year Dr, White has held that post. Dr. White has been a leader of Utah Softball since its organization organiza-tion in that state severs I years ago, and one Salt Lake City soft-ball soft-ball plant was nsmed White park in recognition of his services. As In previous years, the winnef of each state championship tournament tour-nament may compete In the 1940 world's amateur Softball championships champion-ships here September 6-12. Last season title winners from 43 states and 12 metropolitan areas took part In the meet. Carr Brothers of Covington, Ky, won the title last yesr, and J. J. Krelgs of Alameda, Ala-meda, Cel., won the women's championship. ,
