Show TEXAN FACES THEFT QUERY A man from Texas waa held Friday Fri-day for Investigation of automobile theft as police sought yeggs who attempted at-tempted to burglarise at least four downtown business places. Held Is O. R. Arnett. S7. arrested shortly after midnight by Radio Patrolmen Pa-trolmen David G. Johnson and W. L. Marrora near Second South and West Temple streets. He reportedly waa unable to produce pro-duce ownership papers on the 1938 model sedan In his possession, which bore Texas license plates. The officers said he told them he had hauled passengers In the car from Oklahoma City, Okla.. to Denver. Den-ver. Colo.: from Denver to Pocatello. Idaho, and from Pocatello to Salt Lake, where he was attempting to obtain other fares to California. Four Stores Report At least four downtown business establishments Friday had withstood with-stood efforts of thieves to enter, detective bureau reports showed. Mrs. Charles E. Carrell, 23 Edith venue, told police a sneak thief entered en-tered her home through an unlocked door while she waa chatting across the back fence with a neighbor.
