Show Amateur Mitt Slingers To Compete Next Week The cream of the fistic crop in intermountain amateur ranks is expected to compete in the annual A. A. U. boxing tournament which opens next Tuesday at McCullough's arena. Final details for the four-night affair were completed Tuesday night at the Elks club when the athletic commHt of that organisation organisa-tion met with Harold McNeil, chairman chair-man of the tournament. McNeil reports boxers will come' from Pocatello, Provo, Tooele, Ogden, Og-den, Heber City. University of Utah, Brigham Young university, Utah State Agricultural college. Bait Lake City and several other points. The Pocatello Elks club has already al-ready conducted an elimination tournament and will send the following fol-lowing fighters to Salt Lake City: Richard Hess. 112 pounds; Guy Thomas, 111; aeon WUItsms, 13 ; Richard Rublo, llo; George Gillette, Gil-lette, 147; Eldon Scott, 10; Al Harshbargar, 170, and Clee Rowe, will again be conducted con-ducted in the Junior and senior classification. |
