Show IIES BUILDING BIDS PONDERED High bids submitted for the new United States bureau of mine experiment ex-periment station on the University of Utah campus create a serious problem for equipping the . new structure. Dr. D. 8. Dean, chief engineer en-gineer of the metallurgical division, said Wednesday following the opening open-ing of bids. The low construction bid of $35,-000 $35,-000 waa submitted by Ryberg Brothers Broth-ers Tuesday. Other bids submitted were: James J. Burks and company, $25352; Chris tensen at Gardner, Inc., $265,900; Jacobsea Construction Construc-tion company, I2M.S40: Vincent-Peterson Vincent-Peterson company, $2S.000; Enoch Chytraus, 252.337, and Bowers Building and Construction company, $24.M7. The low bid. Dr. Dean said, would not leave funds for equipment of the station even with the acceptance of alternate bid. The total appropria-tlon appropria-tlon for the building Is $300,000. |
