Show BAR TO STUDY UDICIALELM Members of the Utah State Bar, at their annual meeting in Ogden next month, will hear a recommendation recom-mendation that the bar present to the next legislature a proposal to (amove the judiciary from politics proposal that died in committee In the 1937 session. The recommendation will come election, it was announced Monday. The proposal calls for a constitu- tfonal amendment providing that. whenThe term of a supreme ourt or district court Judge expires, his name shall be placed on a separate ballot, without political designation, with voters to decide whether he hall be continued in office. ' If the voters retire the Justice or Judge he becomes Ineligible for reappointment re-appointment to a succeeding term and the vacancy ahall be filled by the governor from a list of bar members prepared by a Judicial commission, comprising the president presi-dent of the state senate, speaker of the house and the three Junior Jus-ticese Jus-ticese of the supreme court, except chief Justice whose position has been vacated. |
