Show Coast Poloists Recapture Cup .LOS ANGELES, Nov. 22 (ft Deprived of a championship trophy in a three-game series with the California all starts, Mexico's visiting visit-ing poloists go to San Francisco this week for two engagements. The all stars edged out the Mexicans Mexi-cans 8-7 to take the series, two games to one, yesterday. A last minute 40-yard angle goal by How-land How-land Paddock, sua No. 3, was the margin of victory. Paddock replaced Eric Pedley in the fourth chukker when the letter's let-ter's injured ankle was bruised again in a jam. Jimmy Rogers scored four points for the winners. Aiden Roark made two and Pedley one. Major Antonio Nava. with five points, was high scorer. He made a gallant stand after the Ca h forms for-ms ns led 6-2 at half time, tying the count at 7-7 in the seventh chukker with a sensational backhand angled goal. His teammate, J. Gracia, scored two points. Mrs. Will Rogers, widow of the humorist, presented the Eric Pedley Ped-ley cup to the Californians at the close of play. The Mexicans had held it since 1931. |
