Show BEST BIG DOG AWARD GIVEN Proud as Punch, "Duke," ' who looks a little like a collie and a little like a police dog, Thursday stood adjudged the best big pet dog in the Victory j recreation -center neighborhood. "Duke," from the stables of Ted Birkenshaw, 491 Eleventh East street, waa among entries in the annual pet show at the recreation center Wednesday. The best-dressed dog was "Prince." pride of Charles Larkin, 448 Thirteenth East street. He wore trousers and a shirt and looked really nifty. Rose May Weiss, 1033 East Broadway, Broad-way, who exhibited a rooster, won first prli for the most unique pet, and Alleen Schobert's "Blackie" placed first among the kittens. Judges were Mrs. Lora Price, Mrs. Paul Healy, Mrs. Frankie Smith, Mrs. Editha Roselund and Mrs. Margaret Schober. Afton Williams, supervisor of the park, was in charge of the con-teats, con-teats, assisted by Paul Healy and Trrelma Easter, Instructors. |
