Show Army Wedding Is Day's Event At Cathedral By EDITH MIDGETT HINES Tha beautiful Cathedral or the Madeleine waa the scene of a brilliant bril-liant military wedding on Saturday at 5 p. m., when Miaa Cathryn Ann Mra. James W. Harrington, 117 Sixth Esat street', became the bride of Lieutenant David Emory Jonea, Seventy-seventh field artillery, U. S. A., Fort Sill, Okls. The Rt. Rev. Monsighor Duane G. Hunt, bishop-elect bishop-elect of the Catholic diocese of Salt Lake, performed the ceremony. The cathedral was decorated with palms and ferns and baskets filled with pure white gladioli were in the chancel. A seven-branched brass candelabra held white cathedral candles. Mrs. Ethel Hogan Hanson, at the organ, played the Lohengrin march as the processional and the Mendelssohn march as the recessional. reces-sional. The bridal procession waa led by the ushers, brother officers of the bridegroom. Including Captain A. P. Foster, Lieutenant Arthur W. Tyson. Ty-son. Lieutenant Bradford W. Means, Lieutenant W. E. Sievera, Lieuten-h Lieuten-h aat Taoaaaa MiffUa and lieutenant L. S. Chappelear, who joined the bridegroom and his best man. Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Floyd Hansen, to await) the bride and her attendanta. The bride's sister, Misa June Harrington, Har-rington, waa tha maid of honor; Mra. John L. Harrington, aiater-in-law of the bride, waa the matron of honor; Mrs. Daniel W. Moffat was the attending matron, and Miss Janet Harringten of Helena, Mont.; Misa Josephine Dowd and Miss Eleanor Bailey were brideamaids. Mary Beth Wilson waa flower girl. The attendants were all frocked alike in bouffant models of white Bet over taffeta, made with puff aleevea and sashes of pale blue taffeta. taf-feta. The maids were in Juliet! caps of blue aatin and tha matrona wore white maline and net hats, and all carried blue delphinium and double white larkspur. The little flower girl wore a dainty creation of white organza or-ganza and a wreath of whit flowers in her hair, and carried a baaket of blue and white flowera. The dainty young bride, who was given in marriage by her father, James W. Harrington, wore ahell pink satin made with a long train and a aeed pearl coronet which held In place her long, filmy tulle veil. She carried an armful of white cape gardeniaa and bovardia. Mra. Harrington, Har-rington, mother of the bride, wore a Milgrlm model of black net and velvet Aa the young couple left the cathedral an arch was formed by the ushers with their aabera for them to paaa under. A supper for members of the bridal party and the two families was given at the , Hotel Utah empire room following the wedding. The U-ahaped table waa decorated in bridal effects in all white.. Out of town guests at the wedding Included Dr. and Mrs Melvin Stauf-fer Stauf-fer and family of Pittsburg, Cal.; David Jones,, father of the bridegroom, bride-groom, of San Francisco; Mr. and Mrs L. J. Radloff of Burley, Idaho, and Misa Mary K. Murphy of Boise. The bride's traveling suit was of cinnamon grown wool, with chocolate choco-late brown accessories. The couple left for a motor honeymoon and will make their home at Fort SilL |
