Police Chief Reed E. Vetterli Indicated that officers would have difficulty knowing which ears belonged to legislators, but that the department was prepared to make - amends. "We aren't going to try to make mind readers out of our officers in enforcing this law," he said. "If legislators' ears are tagged and the law does exempt such cars from this type of offense, they'll be promptly excused on mailing the tags to my office."
